What we build to, what we know still needs work, and how to reach a person when something gets in your way.
Our commitment
Property management is done by people with every kind of ability, on phones in a hallway and on desktops in an office. Propsena is committed to making its website, application and portals usable by everyone, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification or reduced motion. Accessibility is part of how we design and review features, not a separate project.
The standard we build to
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the level referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act guidance and by Section 508. In practice this means:
- Semantic HTML with proper headings, landmarks and labels, so assistive technology can describe the page.
- Everything that can be done with a mouse can be done with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Interactive components are built on accessible primitives that manage focus, roles and keyboard behaviour.
- Text and interface colours meet WCAG contrast requirements, and colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
- Animation is reduced or removed when the operating system requests reduced motion.
- Layouts reflow to small screens and to 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
Where we are today
Propsena is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA: most of the product meets the standard, and we know of areas that do not yet fully meet it. We test with keyboard-only navigation, screen readers and automated checks as features ship, and we fix accessibility defects with the same priority as functional ones. Areas we are actively improving include:
- Dense data tables and financial ledgers, where screen-reader navigation can be slow.
- Mobile inspection flows that rely on photos, which need fuller text alternatives.
- Payment forms and e-signature steps embedded from Stripe and DocuSign, whose accessibility we monitor but do not control.

Technical information
Propsena relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA, and is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge together with the screen readers built into or commonly used with those platforms. Older browsers may not receive the full experience.
